Activities

MathCounts is a national math competition sponsored by Raytheon and other engineering firms. 

Each year, PHSA fields a team of 6th-8th graders to the local MathCounts competition. The team usually starts meeting weekly toward the end of October to begin practicing math together and learn the ways of MathCounts. It's a fun opportunity to gain math skills in a group setting and get the chance to compete against local schools in March on the BMCC campus. If our PHSA team qualifies, they advance to the state competition. Our team has had the honor of going to the state competition several times, most recently in the spring of 2022!
