When considering homeschooling, some of the things that many families wonder about are athletics and social skills. How will their kids learn to work in a team? Our sports program in PHSA helps fill in that gap.
Every year, PHSA lays out a plan for the different sports that will be played throughout the school year. This is made possible with an “all hands on deck” approach to coaching. If there’s a particular sport or game a PHSA parent is passionate about, we ask that parents bring it to us so we can incorporate it into our year.
PHSA student members can participate in a wide variety of sports activities. In years past, they have enjoyed ice skating, disc golf, jump rope exercises, ballet, barn dances, and gymnastics to name a few. Another fun benefit of our sports program is learning the mechanics of many staple sports, from soccer and softball, volleyball and floor hockey, kickball and more.
One of the most amazing things about our sports program is that we often see students, who begin playing sports, like baseball and soccer, with very little enthusiasm, grow in their confidence, skills, and enjoyment of the game.
